"You guys emit a loud grudge for oil execs and their evil children."
Not really. But the prices recently prostituted doesn't make friends with middle-america. You disagree?
Bush, as with other things like WMD, has inexplicably passed up a teaching moment to explain how the Futures Traders around the world are contributing to the pricing volatility.
If you drive over to your panhandle or in NW Texas panhandle, you will be shocked at how many new wells were put into production based on these $70/bbl targets that made drilling those wells make economic sense. $3 gas bad for Joe 6pak? $70/bbl oil good for American energy independence.
The alternative to this dynamic, changing, volatile market controlled by competing international factions and capitol would be to have a Central Committee set the prices, like how about the UN-Oil-for-World committee or OPEC or even the EPA+DOE for crying out loud.
One thing that DIDN'T happen during that spike was SHORTAGE. You didn't see any pumps say "No Gas" today or rationing day-of-the-week did you?
Yes we agree that there's a kneejerk reaction out there for the uninformed, but that's no excuse for intelligent people to get out the tar and feathers for the evil corporations that keep us all in tall cotton.
