(Laura came to our lodge #623 and presented her father's Bible to us not long ago. Mr. Welch was a Past Grand Master of our lodge and a good man.)
I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that President Bush was going to use the same Bible, to take his first oath of office on, that George Washington and many other subsequent presidents had used, but didn't, due to the fragility of that Bible in inclement weather.
That Bible ( a KJV ), BTW, was used in the N.Y.C. Masonic Lodge and can be viewed, by anyone, today, in the Masonic Museum in the Grand Lodge in N.Y.C., which is to be found at 71 West 23rd Street, N.Y., N.Y.! :-)
