There's that term again...Eastern Star. It's a name that recalls that of Esther, a Persian name that means "Star," and may or may not refer to the Evening Star, meaning Venus. Now, there's some controversy over the etiology, but I find it fascinating that the Masonic womens' organization should bear a label that refers to Venus, a.k.a. Aphrodite.
Maybe some of those Masons' wives deserve a second look...
