Thanks Ken for you great ideas on this issue. I wonder how much of a help I could be on this.

Basically, the inability to search on things other than the Subject line, and how Subject lines often do not convey the important portions of the story to be referenced - make it hard to search thru so many old threads.

And by the time court rolls around, the threads will really be old !

Ken - don't forget to post important articles in total and not just links. Links age out very fast - the Durham HS ages out in as fast as 15 days!

A link after that becomes totally useless.

Paper - Date - Headline - Page on Page - and author.

That information may allow someone willing to do research off-net to get the original articles.

Thanks again !!

Mike

As I understand it, what dm has in mind is a lean, mean set of links covering all aspects of the case. Say, a set of flagships articles on each topic. That's going to take care of 98% of the questions that come up. And with those articles handy, I'm sure they could find their way to the more obscure things.

I propose we get rid of the DLX threads except this one once dm has harvested the links.

Do you think it would be a good idea to have a central collection point for people to dump their links, then volunteers could sort them into the proper place at a later time? I think it would be a more user friendly of collecting links.
