Heh...well then, here comes my first WA winter! Yikes! ;-)
I bought boots for the girls yesterday. Becky picked out these ridiculous motorcycle-looking things with no decent tread. Sheesh. But she just loves them.
Alyson chose a pair of clunky-looking Disney princess boots, but at least they've got a great tread and are lined with fleece inside.
Ramius will prolly end up taking us back to REI to get some decent boots later, but the ones we got yesterday should do well until the ice arrives.
I couldn't find a pair of decent looking boots that didn't have a heel on them. Who in the heck wears heels to walk on ice??!!
You'll have lots of mornings with frost... enough to freeze wet pavement, but we don't get tons of ~ice~... a week or so, here and there, of snow that doesn't usually last a real long time. They need rain gear more than ice gear, but some good hiking type boots/shoes are always appropriate.
