Rooney told me about your exploits. That was some pretty good scouting. I could use a man like you on my staff, if you ever tire of the General. (Stuart to Pendleton)
I will keep that in mind, but I am quite content where I am. (Pendleton's response)
How about Major Smith and me, Morrison complained. We did some exploits of our own yesterday.
Anyone can sit in the mud, Major, Stuart replied, winking at Jackson.
We did more than sit in the mud. We managed to get 20,000 men in position in under four hours despite incredible hardships.
I stand corrected. If I have the need for someone to sit in the mud and point to the right, I will know where to come, Stuart said, his eyes dancing in laughter.
James and I can point left too, Morrison retorted.
Ah, ambidextrous! General Jackson, it is no wonder that your staff is the envy of the army.
We just started watching book III of the North and South. I haven't read those books - I'm sure they're just fine. But there's lots to giggle about in the made-for-TV production. ie sequins on the dresses.
