The appt. went very well! It's the best possible news. He said his foot is growing fine, but that his ankles, indeed every joint in his body, is extremely lax. He compared his walking and running to teetering on a narrow beam that he can fall off of any time!

You know, Steve and I were runners...Steve still runs. It was unnerving to us to see Matthew struggle with running...it took all his effort and he never went very fast. Joshua began passing him years ago. I told the doctor this and he said "He'll never be a runner. Focus on other things." Which was just music to my ears...because if he's normal and just can't run...I can handle that. If he can't run because of a problem, that's what I want to fix.

So now we know! No problem, we can work around this.

This doctor also praised me for getting the high tops and getting him into swimming. I can only praise the Holy Spirit for giving me the conviction and the wisdom to do it.

Glad it went well! I think swimming is very good because it's not hard on joints. Any other exercises or support recommended?

Well, good! That's not so bad.

Is it something he'll grow out of, to some extent?
