*sigh*

I think one of my characters really wants to reach an Archie Goodwin level of being a complete and utter smart aleck, but as it is, it's just sad and pathetic.

Having a hard time getting motivated to write...

But at least the boys hit the trail today.

I'm realizing my characters haven't been interesting for about...ummm...35 pages? 20k words. *sigh*

The end is right on the horizon, and I've always been better at starting stories than at finishing them. So now it's just bogged down in meaningless crap as I try to stumble to the finish line. I have an idea for the final scene, but not a clear path on how to get there. I'd skip to the end and just write that, but I've already skipped around the biggest plot hole and have yet to figure out how to fill it in, and I hate to dig more.

In other news, apparently now dark chocolate M&Ms are no longer just a limited addition. They aren't really what I'd call dark, but they're rather good.

I shouldn't grocery shop when hungry. I have a lot of junk...

I could use some dark chocolate.

Or some light chocolate.

I'm not really picky. Heh.

It's like pulling teeth.

That would be an excellent method of 'intense interrogation' at Guantanamo, I would think! It worked wonders on Dustin Hoffman when Lord Laurence Olivier did it to him in "Marathon Man", as I recall!

We were out working in the yard and finishing up painting most of the day. We came in and watched last night's episode of "Monk". It was the Christmas episode! Can you believe it? It's not even Thanksgiving yet! Then we watched the second episode of "Bones" that we must have missed last Tuesday. It was really good! Now we're watching Tombstone in HiDef. Kewl! Or at least I'm watching the movie. SirKit is cruising the Web.

We were at rehearsal all day long. We'll actually not quite. I spent 45 worthless minutes at DMV this morning only to find out I didn't fill out the form properly and that it needed the Mrs.' signature.

Then we were in rehearsals all day.

Oh and today...the fit hit the shan...officially.

Cannot watch the movie for that reason. Leave my mouth and my teeth alone. When a movie has torture concentrated on those areas, it eeries me and then I dream (or nightmare).

Very, very late. Gotta get my NaNo novel out of the doldrums of the opening scene and into the swing of things.

How are you today, Jeb? May I call you Jeb?

You can call me Jeb. All my friends do. I am doing well today. I skipped out on a lecture. Shouldn't have. But it was going to about the crusades and the prof is really anti-Christian. He has a very bumper sticker approach to scholarship. Indigenous people good, Muslims good, Christians bad, Dead European white men bad, America bad, Capitalism bad, Communism - good but was badly implemented, The Third Way (which ever way the wind is blowing) the best.

Now, getting my degree, I have sat in many blowhard's class listening to them lie all over the place. I have stood my ground and had my say (and sometimes watch my grade get lowered). I have been unPC in a PC world. A Republican in a socialist world, a conservative in a world where anything goes. I have supported my President in rooms where he is literally the most hated man in the world, and supported my country among people who believe America is the sum of all evil.

There are days where I have sought to do battle. Days where I just don't say much. And days where if I hear one more word, I am going to lose my "emotional" cool and weep in despair for my profs and classmates. Today was one of those days. So, I said no to five hours of the evil Christian and the pure innocent Muslim and took a nap instead.

If you are just starting your NaNo novel and you manage to finish it, then the next time you are in Tel Aviv, I am going to take you to Cafe Cafe and buy you dinner.

Yay.

Less than 17,000 words to go! That has got to make you feel good.
