Then there's the one about the ravens at the Tower of London.

I've got a foolproof way of predicting the outcome of Washington State elections. All I have to do is figure out how I'd vote, and predict the opposite. This year's was an absolutely perfect inversion of my entire ballot.

[sigh]

I'm stepping away from FR for a while. Not sure how long.

I'm tired of arguing with idiots.

And the President is depressing me.

I'll be back. Probably sooner rather than later.

I do not know that much about the King Arthur legends. My brother does. Has read every book ever written. I've tried, but I'm not a huge fan of Camelot.

Today, as I passed the university here in Tel Aviv, I saw a demonstration of Arabs, Jews, and Communists demanding that Israel give the land back to the Arabs.

As I watched them from the bus, I thought very hard about a return. How we are in desperate need of Jesus to return and save us from ourselves. I especially thought that on election night. (or late morning here)

The only thing that passed, that I actually would have voted *for* if I were registered in King county... was that infernal new "big-dig" style boondoggle that they want in order to replace the Alaskan Way viaduct.

It puts some whopping new tax on Seattle residents and lots of businesses downtown. Plus it'll have whopping tolls. Why would I support such a thing?

Do you really think I would vote for it out of sheer revenge for Seattle getting to vote to put in a new toll bridge on the Narrows that we didn't want and they wouldn't have to use every day?

Do you really think I could possibly be that shallow and petty?

You bet I could. :-)

Mmmm... tastes like... Mr. and Mrs Seattlite Chili. Mmmm...

Heh... That's not nice :~)

I need to move my registration down to Thurston County, course I've been saying that for 4 years now. It's not that hard, but it's an errand, and I hate errands.

Because I didn't get the Pierce county pamphlet though, I was a little caught off guard by the sheer volume of Pierce County Charter amendments. Are they just throwing out their entire system and starting over or what? I left a lot of them blank.

I just used abruptly and adroitly in the same sentence. I was going to add absconded, but I do not want to be too clever.

17,000 word?!!! Mayuhedet!

Don't go out there. The threads are mean and ugly and their body parts and half eaten corpses and recriminations and oh! my eyes! my eyes! I can't stand it any longer!

Defeat is an orphan! And now, we are over run with the logic of the "told you so's" and the smugness of the arm chair quarterbacks.

One thing I hate more than democrats is Monday morning quarterbacks.

And I had to listen to liberal crowing all morning!

I was startled by that too, though I'd noticed them in the pamphlet. My comment was "Geez... does the county council make ~any~ decisions on its own anymore?" What do we need them for? All they need is a secretary that can take the agenda and compose it into ballot titles.

AZ is like that. It's a strategic move. The council critters get to blame the voters for everything come re-election time.

I'm going to have to put up with liberal crowing too. For whatever reason, alot of my friends are Democrats. They don't even really think of themselves as liberals, just Democrats. They go out and vote Dem for the same reason that they root for the Miami Heat - they think of the Dems as the home team.

I can't figure out whether Freerepublic is keeping me sane or making me crazy in the wake of the great debacle.
