You need some cows! We rented a house on 3 acres in Indiana, and it came with an apple orchard. The owner told us that one day he looked out and a neighbor's cows were browsing the trees in his orchard!
We did have cows come through one night, though. They escaped from the dairy farm down the road, and just kept walking across folks' back yards. I had to call the farmer about midnight to come get them.
I'm surprised deer haven't found them. We have to keep the horses out for now, there's just too many.
Your squirrels are too weird.
They're either weird, or they have a plan.
Yawn.... overcast day here. We haven't made our plans yet but they'd better start with breakfast cuz I'm hungry! One full day left here then we start the trip home to Iowa.

So good to hear from you!! Lazy days are sometimes the best.
Some squirrels just need shootin'.
We did lazy yesterday too. It was rainy then so we mostly sat around and watched movies.
The first day here was gorgeous so we got the touristy things out of the way - saw the falls, went behind them, drove out to the whirlpool, went shopping, bought some hats. And the view is still great even on foggy days.
-Still Jen
Yeah. Sure ya did.
*snort*
Good morning! Lazy is often best, IMO. Seems like some folks put themselves through a sort of "Amazing Race" type of whirlwind trip for a honeymoon...where's the fun in that?
*yawn* Still darkish here. Hard to get up early in the fall and winter.
Today we are driving to Toronto to visit their Chinatown and see what's to see.
You got us Corin... we only watched one movie. The rest was anime and live action Japanese tv shows.
That was me - Jen.
I told you about the time Steve sat one of our tomatoes down on our picnic table and squirrel ate half of it within about 15 minutes when he went in the house...
I thought it was because they were thirsty, but I put out water for them even...
Ours've never touched our tomatos...
If they're well fed with what they like, they don't have to scrounge I guess :~)
Good morning everyone!
Well, Steve emailed his resume to the local office this morning. Got the "read receipt" from the guy about 15 minutes ago.
Now we wait.
Ugh...
Hullo you two! :~)
Maybe that's it...ours are urban squirrels!
I haven't had problems with squirrels eating the crops. They're too interested in the bird feeders. I've replaced the "squirrel proof" feeder three times.
My problem is chipmunks. I told the wife last night we need to get some snakes.
She was not amused.
I really like snakes.
I've never had to deal with chipmunks though. We have gophers like you wouldn't believe...I've actually pulled one out of the ground with a rake. I don't care for gophers...they make a mess. Big piles of dirt every where.
We also have moles, but they just kinda wrinkle up the sod a bit...
There are prairie dogs just a ways down the street...or used to be. I think the mean old dude gassed them.
I'd recommend just getting squirrel feeders :~)
