Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Were you planning on doing pictures tomorrow? Let me know if you still wanted help!

BTW, your cat has figured out how to get up on my roof. :-\ At least I now understand certain strange noises I've been hearing off and on these past few weeks.

How the heck would he get up there? He can't even climb trees! Is he up there now?

I saw him on the roof of the dog house, and then on the top of the frame for the porch...so apparently he is able to climb up that pole or jump from the dog house to the frame there. I didn't see the in-between of the whole sequence, though.

Right now, he's just on the dog house, or was a second ago.

Speaking of Firefox, I just installed version 2.0 RC3. Seems pretty nifty so far.

morning!

Heh...Miss Cat really likes her fountain. Last night I took it offline for cleaning. She sat in front of the replacement bowl demanding that it be returned. She wouldn't even wait for the dishwasher.

Morning, sip, brisk this morning, Annie and gypsygirl have been fed, sip, got a fire going, sip. Samantha used to enjoy the fountain, we keep a waterbowl in the same place for gypsy and annie.

~Sip~

House is a lot cozier when the windows are glazed. Now to do something about the door...

Heh, glad the glazing worked. The door? hmmm. Duck Tape?

Annie thinks the rug in front of the fire is a good place to lay. Gypsy is taking her post breakfast nap on her bed.

Think I'll start with some weatherstripping. Actually, it sags. I tried tightening the screws in the top hinge...one of the screws never tightened. The guy at work thinks I should try longer screws.

Longer screws can work. We've taken broken toothpicks and glued them in the hole, then used a new screw or the the same one, and retightened. Seems to work very well for us. sip.

Hmmm...that's an even cheaper fix than a new screw and a dowel rod. I'll have to try that first.
