The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I had a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks the other night.

According to the calorie count, if I'm to stay on my diet, I officially can't eat again until March.

Heh...

But they're awful good!

I ended up going to a coffee house instead, though. Did some writing, had a really good mocha.

You da bear!

Unfortunately I need the original, not photoshopped pic. But that gives me more to search by.

Did you check Michelle Malkin. I might have them on my other computer, but I don't think I can get to that anytime soon.

I found 'em. I was able to google the captions listed in the thread, even though the pictures are gone from the original site.

She's going to make a cameo appearance on my blog as the "Drama Queen of the Webbutante Ball."

I'll post a link when it's done.

Sigh...gots to go pick up thetruck from thedealer.

I've been having trouble with the signal lights. I checked the fuse, it's okay and actually they started working again when I put it back.

But about every other time I try to use them, they don't work. It's been at thedealer since Thursday night, they have ~yet~ to get them to fail.

So, there's that...

I hate intermittent problems like that.

Never does it when you want it to.

Bad electrical juju...

My van has taken to locking certain doors without my say-so. So far it leaves the driver's side door alone, and it only happens now and then...but it's aggravating.

It's probably gnomes.

Step 1: Disconnect Corin's lights
Step 2:
Step 3: PROFIT!!

Fortunately, they didn't charge me anything. He suspects is the multi-function switch which is in the $200s to replace. But he says it will eventually go completely, so we should wait.

But I swear I am not making this up...

I start to turn out of the parking lot and they don't work.
I back up to go in and tell him and they're working.
I go to turn into the nayberhood...nada...
I pull into the drive way and just ~check~ and they're working.

It's dark majick, I'm tellin' ya...

My 1985 Pontaic STE took to doing that, but never for the dealer. I finally figured out that it happened when it rained, or we had a heavy dew, although it was very disconcerting to be driving and have the door locks start latching and unlatching themselves. I had to have the entire electrical mechanism disconnected so the battery wouldn't run down in the middle of the night but I still miss that car. LSA

I guess time will tell if wet weather causes mine to act up. So far it's been so intermittant I'd *almost* think I was imagining it.

I seem to recall that this model has a reputation for electrical weirdness, though. *sigh* I guess I cross that bridge when I come to it.

Speaking of my van, your cat appears to think he owns it.

He appears to feel the same way about your whole place :~) Feel free to spray him with the hose if you don't want him there!

Otherwise, I hope Cisco at least likes his company :~)

Heh...he doesn't bother me. He's just so...I dunno...arrogant that it cracks me up.

I'm thinking...trying to figure out the easiest way to build a bed for those bulbs. I guess I'll truck as much dirt as possible over from the garden, but I should find something to put up as a border for it. Might go to Home Depot and see if they have anything cheap that'd hold soil in place - those plastic edging rolls, maybe.

That might work... ;~)

We're headed out to pick the paddock... Holler before we dump it if you want some poop. :~)

Will do. ;-)

I guess I'm heading out to the library and Home Depot! Hopefully they have that stuff this time of year...the black plastic bumper stuff is what I'm thinking of. Can't be too spendy, I'd think.
