Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |

I bet it did :~) Better spectator sport than a wreck.
Road rage on a whole other level? Like WWF for racing fans?
Hm.
Ungh...need to get coffee going here. I'm having trouble concentrating.
Heh... is that the lack of caffeine, or the guy ? :~)
...I'd just really like to know his side of things. And I'm still fretting about the messy house. I guess what's done is done, though.
It's not like it's never happened before.....
Stop fretting. What's done is done, and fretting isn't attractive :~) Ask him when you all can get together again :~) Tell him you want to see the ocean, or the volcano, or the local McDonalds, it really doesn't matter!
I had no idea :~)
And wear somethin' floozy.
Right... and what Corin said :~)
"Wear somethin' floozy" fits nicely in the keywords.
Dwarves...
Yarborough vs Allison in '79 was a good one.
Ok...here is the first picture. I won't be posting this in the blog, so I'll show it to you here.
This is at the Tulsa VW Club auto show...this is a close-up picture of that 1970 Yukon Yellow Beetle that is just exactly like mine (body-wise). The guy that owns it has it really spiffed up...very modern. He has blue pinstripes that say "Seventy" on it in fancy script instead of the silver trim I have.
I don't particularly care for it like that...I like my silver trim and old interior and such...but it gives you an *idea* of how mine should and hopefully will look someday.
I like the flowers... If you're going to drive around in a car that doesn't take itself seriously, run with it :~)
Ha! That's precisely what I think!
I told Steve I really didn't care what it looked like and won't for a while...I just want it to run. I just want to be able to drive it around the neighborhood...in the church down the street's parking lot, you know...just to see it do something other than just sit there.
We have big plans for the next few weeks...ones that we can do ourselves with minimal help. Like the wheels. I personally can get the tires on the rims. And getting a key made for it (it still doesn't have a key and the steering wheel is locked because of it, so getting tires would be pointless if I can't even steer it!)
We use to have a VW bus! Back in the mid 80's. It was red and white like the one at the left edge of that picture.
My grandmother had a VW camper at one point - seventies era, though. Not as cool as those!
She traveled all over the country for a few years, first in that and then in another camper. Saw every part of the US and stopped for a time wherever there was a place or thing that looked interesting.
Politically, she's a fruitcake. But I like her spirit of adventure. ;-)
My "Compleat Idiots" guide has a funny little section about what to do if your car (or bus) overheats. He says you have to let it cool down, and then give various tips about what you can do while you wait and it's especially funny what he suggests you do if your bus overheats and you have your girlfriend with you.
LOL!!!
