Are the wild fires near you?
Thank Heavens no! I heard on FOX News Radio this morning that it's the biggest wildfire this state has ever dealt with, and it's currently the largest wildfire burning in the west this year. It's burning on the other side of the state, but when our wind blows from the south or southwest, you can smell burning firewood in the air.
The following acts are prohibited on all State lands and private forested
lands lying within the boundaries of the marked counties.
1. Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire or campfire except
within a developed recreation site, or improved site.
2. Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a
developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in
diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.
Exceptions:
• Persons with a written permit that specifically authorizes the
otherwise prohibited act.
• Persons using a fire solely fueled by liquid petroleum or LPG
fuels.
• Persons conducting activities in those designated areas where the
activity is specifically authorized by written posted notice.
• Any Federal, State, or local officer or member of an organized
rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
• All land within a city boundary is exempted.
• Other exemptions unique to each agency.
