The officer identified himself again and then fired a warning shot into the bushes,..........................I call BS. LEO's don't fire warning shots.
Actually, I agree with you. He may have gotten shook up and accidentally discharged his gun. I don't have any inside info on this or anything, but an off-duty officer shot the guy three times in front of his house, after discharging a round into the bushes. There's something about the "warning shot" statement that raises my BS detector. It could be bad reporting, or it could be that the cop doesn't have his story down straight.
Agreed. When your best defense is fear or unprofessionalism, you're in trouble.
