I wonder why it's so popular? I gotta say, it's difficult to imagine horses being more economical to raise than cattle.

The flavor is not bad at all and the quality can be very good in some countries, so I can see why people eat it. I think they are economical as a side effect of population rather than being raised specifically for meat i.e. we raise a lot of horses in this world not necessarily for meat and they have to be disposed of somehow.
