He needs to buy a couple of Llamas.....Interesting. Llamas, at first glance, appear to be pretty passive critters.
How is it that they might control/intimidate predators???

They kick coyotes if they come too close, but they do sometimes lose. I've also seen what's left of a llama after the coyotes got done with one, and it was definitely a "hate" killing. I don't think a llama would do much against wolves, much much bigger and stronger than a coyote.

How is it that they might control/intimidate predators??? They're mean as hell. They spit, they bite and they kick. They are by nature herd animals and are very protective of "their sheep."
