It certainly does, doesn't it? My daughter told me this young woman's father got her to tell him who her married paramour was, and he paid him a visit, but no one knows what happened then, except that the sob never contacted the girl again. She was 19 years old, by the way-an adult most certainly, but not knowledgeable enough about the ways of predatory married men old enough to be her father...

I can remember being in college when they made abortion legal here in NY, I was ONE OF THE FEW who dared speak out against abortion. I was ridiculed by college professors......I knew it was wrong and woudn't let a discussion go on without speaking up. I was stunned and shocked when it became legal. I was just 18 and naive. My intro to politics was not pleasant.

NY is on the hunt for Bucky White.......he has now shot three NY state troopers...........this has been going on for months......it started in June....I had gone to a bridal shower and drove past Elmira...I knew something was going on when the troopers outnumbered the rest of the drivers out there. It seems he shot two more in recent days. God have mercy on the those men. There is a $250,000 reward for his capture.........I suspect he will die from suicide by cop.

Have you followed the bucky white story up here in NY?

our power was out for a few hours last evening. xshub found out why, when he was taking the jag in for servicing this AM, some huge trees were down on the back alley from our neighborhood, and had been sawed up and put to the side. That street is still dark and lights are out in a number of places. So the xshousehold played 90s Trivial Pursuit as a fam last night. it was fun.

No - been kind of busy. Dad took the kids to the cabin twice this summer, I had to beg off both times. Darn.

-that doesn't sound so bad. Mandatory TV free night. Good fun. Things are quiet up here.....hubby just volunteered to run calls for a 24 hour shift starting tonight. I will be vegging out and fussing with my kitchen project.

I went to my niece's bridal shower and drove through crime central when he shot the first trooper. Now there is an intense search where my now married niece is living. Gees......it's like he's stalking her.

I am with T5 on the quick apprehension.....but was totally unaware of the situation. Prayers for the familys of those lost and for those hunting the animal........

The main house phone went out about 7 ot so last night, and my line finally died at 11:30. 20 minutes after coolbreeze got off the cell phone with Verizon, we had dial tons..........my guess is that stuff has dried out enough, because they told us they would have someone here on the 13th........I went down to the Lodge to find out what wa up around the county, and to use the phone.......

Large portions of the country are still without power and/or cable because of trees down on power lines.

The sun actually came out shortly before 6pm.

NO trees fell on you, your house or your cars......they should be able to sort the rest out soon enough. Glad you made it through ok. We only had rain, not the heaviest rain of the season. NO local flooding either. Those rebuilding their homes and living in FEMA trailors are anxious though.

The last two are in critical condition. I am praying they survive and recover completely. IF he is taken in NY I am sure he will not live. He will start a shoot out and the troopers will be glad to oblige him.

I cannot believe those who are hiding him though. And WHY would you escape days before you were scheduled to be released? It makes no sense.

The flooding around here is horrible. I wanted to throw something at the TV this morning while watching the "local" news (out of Norfolk)...."we had flooding, but this wasn't an Isabel"..........It may not have been an Isabel for them, but it made Isabel look like a piece of candy for us.

No, no trees came down on our property, can't say the same for some folks down the road from us. But my main garden and my herb garden are completed gone.

Yes, I'm feeling sorry for myself at the moment.

I don't think hel'll live, regardless of where he is taken..........cops have no use for those that go after one of their own, let alone 3........no matter the jurisdiction.
