4 8 15 16 23 42 - Official Lost Season 3 Thread
WARNING - Spoilers and Speculation Allowed
Lost is returning to ABCs Wednesday night line on October 4th (9pm)
Again, theyre messing with us with their idiotic (IMHO) scheduling. But instead of a 1 week on, 1 week off, well get 6 episodes, followed by a 12 week break. It will then come back in February for 17 straight episodes.
Returning Characters:
Losties
Sayid Jarrah
Claire Littleton (and Aaron, the "baaabby")
Hugo "Hurley" Reyes
Dr. Jack Shephard
James "Sawyer" Ford
Jin Kwon
Sun Kwon
Kate Austen
Charlie Pace
John Locke
Walt Lloyd
Mr. Eko
Michael Dawson
Rose
Bernard
The Others
Henry Gale/The Other formerly known as Henry Gale
Ethan Rom
Tom/Mr. Friendly/Zeke
Pickett
Alex Rousseau
Bea Klugh
He/Him
Newbies - Actors joining the show (Character names to be added when known):
Rodrigo Santoro - recurring character (double swoon). Allegedly, he plays a survivor from the plane who has been on the island this whole time
Elizabeth Mitchell - contracted to be a regular
Kiele Sanchez - recurring character. Rodrigo's love interest
I know Im missing some characters, especially the Losties, but thats probably because they arent very memorable.
- Look for Desmond (swoon) to become a regular this season and for Ethan to make a few appearances (obviously more Island flashbacks, since Charlie filled him full of bullet holes)
- And of course Danielle Rousseau will be back.
- Michael has been downgraded to recurring character, instead of regular character.
Season 2 finale
When we last left our Losties, Kate, Hurley, Jack, and Sawyer were taken hostage by the Others, after they were betrayed by Michael. In return for helping the Others, Michael and Walt are given a boat to supposedly get off the island. Yeah, okay, good luck with that. Be seeing you again real soon.
Oh, and the hatch exploded. No more showers for our Losties. Guess, I'll just have to picture Sawyer lathering up...oh excuse me, back to the matter at hand. So, did Locke, Desmond, and Eko survive the explosion? Well, if youve read this far, you can probably answer that one on your own.
And Penny (Desmonds long lost love) is seen answering a phone. On the other end of the line are 2 men in a very cold location (the opposite of our very sweaty island). 1 says I think weve found it. Hmmm. Very interesting. Or not. Tune it to find out.
Season 3 - questions to be answered
1. Kate will finally decide between Jack and Sawyer (my money is on Jack, but Sawyer would be so much better)
2. The Hatch is gone. Forever. Get over it. Oh, but wait. There might be an underwater one. Cue the Splash theme song.
3. We will find out why Locke was in the wheelchair. Promises, promises.
4. We will also find out why Libby (R.I.P.) was in the mental hospital. So obviously, she isnt completely off the show. But, thankfully, Michelle Rodriguez is. Worst. Actress. Ever. Anybody got any scoop on who she is dating in real life? I got $100 that says it is someone of the female persuasion.
5. It has nothing to do with nanobots. Okay, maybe that wont be answered exactly. But please. Horrible theory.
6. The polar bear returns.
7. The monster will be revealed.
Unanswered questions
1. Are Jack and Claire siblings?
2. Where is Cindy?
3. How does a show go from being the Emmy winning best drama to not even being nominated??? Stupid Emmys.
4. Who is Suns baby daddy?
Episode 1 08/07 - Jack, Kate and Sawyer open the season in captivity as prisoners of "The Others." Just who these "Others" are and what they want are primary questions Season Three will explore. Michael Emerson joins the regular cast in his ongoing role as Henry Gale, leader of "The Others." Romance looms on the horizon as Jack's interests veer towards a mysterious new woman, whose motives may be questionable. Sun and Jin will continue to celebrate their pregnancy - but is the child really Jin's? Locke and Sayid will band together with some of the other survivors and journey across the island in an attempt to free Jack, Kate and Sawyer. Charlie will attempt to return into the good graces of Claire and her baby, Aaron, but can he be trusted to stay clean and sober? The fates of Locke, Desmond and Mr. Eko in the aftermath of the implosion of the hatch are answered. Will Penny Widmore find the island and her long, lost love, Desmond, and can the survivors find a way to interact with the outside world? The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 60-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets. Source - ABC
Can't wait ... can't wait!!
I think tonights episode of House is a repeat - or as they now call those shows an "encore"
I don't think I'll be able to post while watching Lost. I'm usually too glued to the tv.
I agree about watching and posting. Lost is one of those programs where they have a lot of hidden clues and unfortunately "red herrings", but you have to watch closely sometimes to try to get pieces of the puzzle that is Lost.
Boone in flashbacks?! Yea!!!!!!!
ww
bump
Okay, for anyone who likes Americas Funniest Videos - my favorite clips on that show are people walking into glass doors. We sit there and rewind them and watch them over and over.
So last night Jack walking into the glass twice - Im laughing about it now as I type.
Im sure there will be mixed reviews about the episode. I will officially say - I lurved it. Thought the opening sequence was brilliant, although in answering questions (eg, where did The Others live) it left us with a bunch more questions.
Like most Lost fans, I like to dig deeper into the meanings of the episode. So, some points worth discussing:
1) Very much got the feeling I was watching The Village, if anyone has seen that movie
2) Hello Skinner Box (cage)
3) Ben (aka Henry Gales) is him
4) Sara and Christian - must be a red herring
5) What was the Stephen King book they were reading?
6) Moonlight Serenade
7) Let it Go
8) Carl is a plant (probably)
definitely a skinner box
clearly the 'hydra' underwater station will be an intersting part of this season
I'm also interested in what the animal research station is/was up to
Im guessing the Dharma 'commune' is some type of a forced scientific community. There is an attempt at normalcy (book club, baking muffins), but clearly Natalie was falling apart trying to pretend he was living a normal life in the opening scene.
It was CARRIE.

They REALLY get into the indepth nuts-and-bolts of each episode with screen caps and all that. There's some pretty cool stuff over there, and some really far out stuff too.
Anyone know why ABC is offering the episode online for free? Not that I am complaining, I missed the first 20 minutes of S3E01 last night. Personaly, I think it's a good move on ABC's part.
Interesting article (from E!) about the decline in popularity of Lost. It was inevitable really. Even if viewers weren't increasingly annoyed with the lack of resolution in some of the story lines, viewership tends to decline over the years anyway.
----
Going down a hatch is one thing. Climbing out of one, as Lost is learning, is another.
Based on Wednesday night's ratings, the ABC adventure-thriller-mystery hybrid remains in recovery mode after an unpopular resolution to the series' first-season cliffhanger.
Lost's third-season opener was watched by 18.8 million, ABC said. And while that was more than enough to make it the night's most-watched show, and should be more than enough to make it one of the week's most-watched shows, it wasn't near enough to match its own second-season premiere.
Last fall, 23.5 million checked out the Lost launch party. The big premiere was driven by interest in the big cliffhanger from the show's first-season finale. In that episode, aired in May 2005, the plane-wrecked castaways looked down one long, mysterious hatch.
What were they looking at? What was in the hatch? The questions simmered during that summer; the answers fizzled the following fall. As revealed during the 2005-06 season, the hatch led to a tunnel that led to a bunker which basically housed a 1980s home computer set-up, dot-matrix printer and all.
Oh.
The letdown seemed to take down the show's ratings--from 23.5 million viewers for the second-season premiere to 17.8 million for the second-season finale. (Airing opposite American Idol in the spring didn't help, either.) In the end, Lost's audience actually shrunk about 3 percent from its first season to its second.
That Wednesday's numbers were actually up 5 percent from last spring's finale could be a sign that the new "The Others"-kidnapped-Jack storyline is working.
Or, it could be a sign that American Idol isn't on yet.
I would like to be pinged for Lost. However, I have no access except for DVD's or videos, therefore I cannot (CANNOT!) read anything about episodes I haven't seen yet. I am currently on the lookout for bootleg copies of same...
ABC showed the last one on-line immediately after it aired. They may do that in the future.
Got a URL for that?

On the right hand side. Most of the networks are doing this now, so I suspect that you'll be able to view the show immediately after it airs.
Well, actually, don't know if they wait until it airs of the west coast first.
Nice looking numbers. I'm playing these for tonight's Wisconsin Megabucks game! I'm rich!
Thousands of people have played those numbers and lost, so you might as well join them.
They actually almost won in Ireland once. The winning number there was 4 8 15 16 23 24
Grab a bit torrent client and install it. Following that, surf on over to torrentz.com, Season 3 episode(s) should be out there.
