I dunno. Maybe they just wanted to joy ride. My son was almost inconsolable, as he loves VW's and buys them, restores them and sells them. This one, he bought for HIM!
When he was in Seattle, getting married, the Little Rock police called him to say his car had been recovered. The bonus was the full tank, as it had been almost empty!
