Yes, MSM failed to clarify that the "unrelated sex offenses" were the misdemeanor child porn charges in California. So everyone assumed he was busted for sex crimes committed in Bangkok.
How hard would it have been to add the prepositional phrase "from California" to the original story so it read that he was picked up in Bangkok due to "unrelated sex offenses from California".
Can't help but think it was mendacious and intentional.
