So far, the new posting time is going well. Hopefully, I've finally found one that suits me!!
Archives are on my home page.
Enjoy.
LOL.
First?
First!
Hey, you were first last week too, weren't you?
Yep, I guess I just have good timing like that.
You're like butter; you're on a roll.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
LOL, good one.
Are we the only ones on this thread?
So far, but it usually takes people a while to start showing up.
That's the only disadvantage to the new posting time. I'd love to hang around and chat with people on the thread, but I have to go to church at 7.
I LOL at the Etch-a-Sketch! I don't know why. It makes me laugh!
Well, the satirical zinger I'm making is that the Iranian regime is trying to distract its people from the poverty and destitute they live in by coming up with stupid cartoon contests (the artist is so poor he can't even afford a paper and pencil).
Either that, or Etch-a-Sketches are funny.
Etch-a-sketches are funny. (I'm not very deep tonight, sorry!)
Next thing you know they'll be holding lively executions at the soccer stadium. Oh, wait....
(Good job, as usual)
That had a profoundness all its own.
Hey, shezza.
So, you've been working on the Dinklemeyer strip for "years," have you? Were they just doodles that took on a life of their own, or have you always had cartoonist aspirations?
They were doodles that took lives of their own. I started drawing them when I was 17, in my last year of High School (5 years ago). I remember just being miserable in school, so I started doodling in class and it just sort of grew and grew and grew.
The last one I drew was actually on the last day of school, and that's sort of the "shocking ending," but we're still a long way from that.
Nice work...
But, don't Etch-A-Sketches cost more than paper and pencil? 8^)
Actually, I'm guessing not. If you buy regular printer paper at a store, that can cost around $4-5 per packet. Artistic paper, like sketch pads and whatnot, usually are pretty high. Plus, I don't want to think about how much special artist pens or pencils are, but even regular ones can be $1-2 (unless you get them on sale).
I was in a thrift store the other day and saw an Etch-a-Sketch for I think 40 cents.
Which is strange.
I work for a major office supply chain. Filler paper and leads can be had for cheap...8^)
Mhm.
