That was a sad interview with Robert Yates. He said he stopped having fun 3 years ago. He's thinking of changing the name to his son Doug Yates racing.
He's working real hard to get a veteran driver for next year on the 88 [probably Burton[
He said he wants to be able to go to Starbucks without covering up the logo on his shirt.
I really wish him the best. As Kenny Walace said he's the creator of horsepower!! He's won more races than most out there.

Local coverage had a half way decent inteview with Junior Johnson. Like some of the old timers, I detected a little bitterness. Looking at the $$ out there as compared to the $$ that the founders got.
Would that the power had thought of that on the climb from what it was to what it has become.

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Dale Earnhardt Jr. was not critical of the $20,000 fine given to Carl Edwards for ramming him after the Busch Series race last week at Michigan, but he said a fine like that won't do much to dissuade a driver who is making millions.
"I felt like years ago we should have been stepping the fines up into the $100,000-$200,000 range," Earnhardt Jr. said Friday. "Nothing against Carl or the situation, but $10-, $15-, or $20-grand [penalties] don't mean anything to these guys, myself included."
