This morning our President was again hit with questions about why we are at war in Iraq. I can only imagine his perplexity of having to explain this war a thousandth time.

The Democrats see a weakness here. They have consistently created an atmosphere of questioning, conspiracy (Haliburton, or 'just for oil' etc.) and it has been working to some small degree. We have not done a great job of explaining that Afghanistan and Iraq are two separate wars fought for separate reasons, with certain linked commonalities, ie: terrorism and WMD. The whole reason the U.N. was paying Weapons Inspectors is because the world didn't trust Hussein, but also because it was an agreement that ended the war. When he kicked them out, whether he had any WMD's before, he was now free to make them, and he had just violated one of the key terms for his continuation in power.

THIS IS WHY WE WENT IN THERE AND KICKED HIM OUT! (Please excuse the 'shouting')

It was NOT because of terrorism, WMD's, but because the thug in Iraq that killed thousands, shot missles at United States aircraft, and kicked out the weapons inspectors in violation of the terms. As President Bush said it "the U.N. mandates must have teeth." If you do not enforce agreements, then your bluff has just been called and you are made a weakling before the world.

I just thought I'd post this in the form of a 'resolution' because it seems to be a simple, compact, means of putting forward the information to those who are still confused after years of fighting, as to why we are over there.

Hope somebody likes it, and please feel free to add your own WHEREAS and THEREFORE's to it, and please feel free to copy, print, and distribute it everywhere. Thanks.

Iraq was on the US State Department's list of countries accused of sponsoring international terrorism for more than 20 years. That has to be considered one of the reasons for the Iraq war.
