I find this weird. Patsy woke up normally, correct? I suppose she could have been in her night clothes and just thrown on whatever was on the chair when she found her daughter missing. But what are the chances BOTH spouses hopped up and put on old clothing?
If they were dressing only because law enforcement were on the way, it seems strange that neither one of them, upon going back to their bedroom, in anxiety, just reached for even a new shirt/top.
Combined with their son's voice on the 911 tape, it makes me wonder if they slept that night.
That's what I'm trying to figure. Given that evidence, what's the simplest explanation for it all? I think the simplest explanation is that they never went to bed that night.
In an interview with Boulder police some two years later Patsy said that she was fully dressed, with makeup, BEFORE she found the note. So there was no panic to get dressed if we are to believe her. Police officers arriving at the scene confirmed that. She was dressed and ready to travel to Michigan.
