JonBenet, being an independent woman of age 6, said "No!" Somehow, a compreomise was worked out that she could dress herself in what she wanted to. She decided that wearing a white long-sleeve top with a sequined star in the front with the black velvet leggings or pants would be perfect. I *get* the kid logic - white for the Whites.
Patsy said there was also a vest that went with this outfit, which was a Gap ensemble - but I don't know what the vest looked like or if she wore it. I kind of think it might have been the multi-colored sweater seen on the other bed in her room in the crime scene photos, but other posters always said that was too ugly (it was). There was another one that looked like it might be Christmas-y on black background, but no one ever confirmed it.
So, we don't know if she wore the vest, as we've never heard from the Whites publicly. She did not have it on when her body was found - only the white top, the thermal longjohns Patsy said she changed her into while she was asleep from the car trip home from the Whites, and the over-sized Bloomies, size 12-14, with a Wednesday waistband.
JonBenet was *said* to have worn her own size 6 Wednesday Bloomies all evening to the Whites' party. There was no seeming explanation for the big pair she had on. You will often read that the perp "re-dressed" her. I won't go into that, except it might mean 1) perp did the sexual assault and then pullled the panties and pants back up or 2) there was a miscommunication because Patsy originally told LE the little kidnapped "missing" girl had on a red sweater when last seen.
I've always believed the Whites told LE that JBR had on the white star top the evening before and they knew that differed from what Patsy was telling LE about the red top. They even went and got the pix developed to prove it. Still, Patsy might have changed her top when she put her to bed - but to put on a nice sweater? No way.
Then the red turtleneck was found soaking in the sink in the bathroom right outside JBR's bedroom.
OK. Could've all been a mix-up, right? If so, what happened to the size 6 Bloomies she had on when she went to bed and how did the 12-14 Bloomies wind up on JonBenet when she was found murdered?
Patsy explained that away by saying that JonBenet had liked the Bloomies so much that she talked her mom into keeping the cousin's package, too, for herself. I guess to grow into in a few years! Then Patsy claimed that when she fumbled around in the dark for some pajama bottoms to put on JBR the night before, feeling in her dresser drawer without turning on the lights, so as not to wake her up, that she just grabbed the wrong pair of undies.
All right. First of all, JBR's undies weren't kept in the bedroom dresser drawer, they were kept in the bathroom, outside the bedroom. Second of all, the cleaning lady said she never saw the 2nd unopened Bloomies package of underwear, only the little size 6's JonBenet wore that night and hadn't worn before. Third, how did Patsy, in the dark, manage to grab the Wednesday panties, which were the Christmas Day appropriate day? Out of a brand-new package of panties, no less?
She explained it that JonBenet had dressed herself and probably had them on all night. JonBenet couldn't read, much less read the cursive "Wednesday" on the waistband. One of the JBR forums has a pic of what the 12-14 size Bloomies would look like on JonBenet.
So, you decide what happened here.
and where were the other pairs of size 12s in the package? apparently, they were not found by the forensics team that searched the house?
