The family had been out of touch with him for years and his father said he thought he was dead. I don't know what the boys thought or were told. I can't imagine how this is affecting them all.
My immediate thought also.
Look at those boys smothering affection on their dad and the dad coiled and tensed up (as pointed out in another post). He was being as distant as possible while still in physical contact.
Kids want their parents to give and receive love and to protect them. Karr looks to have failed miserably in this job.

I saw the oldest son's MySpace profile, before it was pulled ... he was pretty much of a mess before all of this came to light.
