This case is looking sketchier.

I agree, the who thing seems screwy. It's like Karr has wanted to be part of this case all along. We shall see.

However, DNA evidence could make this an open and shut case in a very short period of time.

This doesn't belong in breaking news. It's a report by a local legal analyst.

Cynicism is a way of life for some of us here at FR, a Rush to Judgment is the order of the day for others.

We'll know soon enough.

He may be working on a book for all we know and is just getting some pre-publicity.

Just returned from DU where the nutjobs think this is a Rovian plot to distract from Ned Lamont's "momentum." Then again, what don't they consider a Rovian plot.

Suspect is a fruit loop.

I think it's safe to say that apologies to the Ramsey family can be deferred for the moment.

Unfortunately it's looking that way. This Karr guy had been exchanging emails with a college prof for quite sometime. I bet he instructed Karr to pull this UNFUNNY little stunt to get him out of whatever trouble he might have been in Thai! Something is outta wack here. I hope I'm wrong so that the family can finally get some peace!

Seems to me he`s one of those wackos who gets off fantasizing about killing kids and this whole "confession" stuff is one more way for him to get his rocks off, make it real in his mind. Is he Islamic?

Another theory I heard early on is that he was facing who knows what in Thailand, he knew about the Ramsey case, and just used the confession to get back to the states to avoid the Dark Hole of Siam or something like that.

According to what I've read and heard, there are a lot of people crazy enough to "confess" to crimes they didn't do. That may well be the case here. I do know that this guy was one of the men named by the Ramseys to police, but don't know the particulars.

It could be a hoax, but I find it difficult to believe, with all the other law enforcement involved, state and federal and overseas, and all the agencies involved, that they would all go along on this if all Boulder had was some emails.

But I admit, he looks more and more like someone just yearning for attention and involvement in this case in any way he can get it.

The evidence in the case (tainted by police mishandling):

-DNA found under JonBenet's fingernails,
-The cord found around her neck and the duct tape across her mouth,
-A pubic hair found on her blanket,
-The ransom note,
-The stun gun that might have been used to subdue her,
-A palm print found on the cellar door,
-A footprint of a Hi-Tec hiking boot found near her body.

If the DNA or palm print matches, this guy's toast.... If not, we have another case like the Duke Rugby Scandal underway where the DA is out of touch.

When asked if he believed the day of an arrest would ever arrive, he responded with conviction.

“Never! Ever! It’s an extraordinary development,” Robinson said. “What we are looking at here is either: the biggest break ever in the JonBenet Ramsey case, or the biggest hoax since the young girl’s body was found in the basement.”

So no, there will never be a conviction, even if it's Choice A, "the biggest break ever"?

I don't get it.

Investigators should give him a polygraph test administered by the FBI. Even though its not admissible in court, its still very accurate and it can give investigators a picture whether he is telling the truth or not.

Robinson believes one thing is clear, however. This is the biggest development in the case so far.

This Robinson guy is an idiot. He believes that the confession is a hoax. That the confession is a made up story by a nutjob trying to gain 15 minutes of fame. After it is learned that the nutjob has no connection to the case otherwise, the investigation will be exactly where it was 5 days ago, which is nowhere. How can this be the biggest development in the case so far? All it serves to do is get the media camera crews, of which there are far too many, something to have a big frenzy over. It fills up time on TV and gets people's hearts all a-flutter, but it is in no way a development.

Wow, glad to this posted -- on FR of course. Had a chance to read some news story on the guy -- sounds very strange. And his ex says he was with her in Atlanta during the time of the murder. Variation on Munchasen, possibly, the man may have been pulled into pedophilia by an original interest in murders -- the Polly Klass and this case being the two major ones. And his guilt feelings subliminate and come out as him convincing himself he murdered the Ramsey girl. My 25 cents is now exhausted ...
