"made a false confession"

Was his confession done in front of a US official or someone representing the US? Is a 'Thai' confession allowed in our system?

I don't know how the particulars wrt his confession, only what I heard him say on TV..Or how legal it is?

But then we have it on video where he said he was "there when she died"..and when asked if he was innocent, he said "no"..
