Wake up and smell the First Amendment, brainiac! YOU HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER! You can't stop the media from having access to police files regarding a murder case without a court order. If she was killed in the family home as was JonBenet, you couldn't force news vans, helicopters and trailers out of your neighborhood or even prevent them from shooting pictures of your residence -- it's a crime scene! And if you would say "I have a right to prvacy (sic)" and don't act like you want everyone in the free world trying to find out who raped and killed your wife or daughter, it would make them more suspicious of you!
You haven't been paying attention. Do you remember poor Richard Jewell, a security guard, ducking in and out of his mother's basement after the FBI falsely accused him of being the Olympic bomber? John Bennett Ramsey is a millionaire. I am assuming you, like most people, are not -- do you think he invited the circus to town that made him an unindicted suspect? Do you think he would hesitate to stop the buzz about the details of his daughter's death if he had the ability to do so? What makes you think you would be able to succeed where he failed? Threatening to shoot reporters? All the more reason to paint you as a villain!
Conservatives can debate on whether there is a "right to privacy" at all in the Bill of Rights, but suggesting the rape and murder of a child is "family business" and shouldn't be subject to public scrutiny is beyond the pale.
A police investigation is different from media coverage. Those people are NOT allowed on my property. They would be trespassing. Where do you live? In crime ridden Los Angeles or New Orleans where murder is the norm? Maybe you can join Cindy Sheehan or Cynthia McKinney if you like the idea of being surrounded by media vultures.
That's not my lifestyle. This is
