To each his own. Hire all the male babysitters you like. I don't care to give child care responsibilities to teenage boys or adult males who are not related to me.

Still haven't answered my question. Why do you assume that men are more likely to abuse children?

Since you have to be safe, while you're at it, why stop with child care responsibilities? Better make sure your son's Little League team has a female coach. She won't be able to bat or run and she'll throw, well, like a girl and know nothing about the game and your son's team will get their butts whipped but at least he'll be safe. I'm sure he'll love you for it. But then you never know, better keep tabs on that female coach too. She might have a "thing" for little boys. Don't worry about your daughter. She'll have female coaches I'm sure. But wait, worry about that too. There is such a thing as a lesbian pedophile. Although they are few and far between, the fact that there's even one or two means you should certainly avoid the whole situation.

In fact, if I were you, I wouldn't ever let them out of the house.

To carry this attitude further, since you can't be too careful, you should probably eliminate all non-relation male influence from your kids lives. Raise them entirely in the company of women. Teach them at an early age to mistrust every single man they ever meet. Their outlook on life will be warped but hey, they'll be safe. In fact, I'd keep them away from your husband on the presumption that he could turn on them as well. Sometimes husbands turn out to be sickos. That is, with your demonstrated attitude toward men, if you have one.

I taught engineering at a university for 14 years. I assumed without evidence that all the women students were irrational cows who couldn't handle the analytical concepts and would be better off spending their time breeding and caring for children. So I failed them ALL even though some showed an aptitude for the material. I wouldn't want one of them to design a bridge that would fall down or something. I was just being safe. Seems fair to me.
