I understand your poimt about taking risks, but I'm not so sure that having a lawyer would actually make them suspect you more than a mistake on your part would if you went it alone. All it would take is one error on your part, one slip of the tongue, one mistake that a lawyer could have prevented, and that would significantly delay the arrival of the day you are talking about. For obvious reasons, the police are going to focus on family members first, so while I agree with you that cooperation is a smart move, it's also wise to know how to approach that cooperation. A local lawyer will know the local police department and how they operate.

WHOA!!! LOcal news here in Montgomery, AL just said that Karr is now being considered a SUSPECT in the kidnapping/Rape/Murder of Shannon Paulk an 11 year old girl abducted in Prattville, AL in Aug 2001 -- and that he is also being investigated for 2 similar cases in Georgia and Northern Alabama in the same time frame.

There is story on the Montgomery Advertiser website, however it is a Gannett paper and we are not allowed to post stories from there.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.I can't imagine how a "slip of the tongue" would cause me to be unjustly charged.I've heard it said often that when one is telling the truth it's hard to trip him/her up in some kind of mind game.It's lies that are hard to remember and keep straight.

And as for cooperation being a "smart move",I'd be more inclined to refer to it as "the logical and right thing to do for many different reasons".
