I think it is forced it. Karr has been in email contact with someone in Boulder over the years about the case and I believe he is the one that took to police and they did not start getting interested in Karr until he started writing about things that only the killer would know.

I believe this guy did it but I also think he deeply desires the notoriety and the attention he is getting.
