I'll bet if one of your siblings/parent/son/daughter confessed to a murder on a Christms Eve ten years ago, you'd very quickly put on your thinking cap, along with other family members, to remember if he/she was with you that evening. I know I would.
But I would still need to pull out pictures to make sure I was remembering the correct year, not the one previous or the one after.
