As a 30-year old single male who played football in high school, I thought about coaching kids football. But I decided not to in part because a guy in my town was arrested for molesting a kid he coached. I don't want to be tainted by the profession, even if it's only something people wonder in the back of their minds.

My son-in-law used to do a lot of high school coaching, baseball, basketball... but won't anymore for that very same reason.
In a sense that's why my husband will not teach a Sunday School for children or teens, even if I'm in the classroom. As sad as it is, we really don't want anything to do with being responsible for the children of others...just in case one of the kids has an issue against us and would decide lying would be a fun way to get revenge.
