The Eagles were and are a joke. The Byrds were 20 times better. And far as "Take it Easy", Jackson Browne did it much better. I have a strange feeling that women bought a lot of Eagles albums. Life ain't fair I guess.

SWEETHEART OF THE RODEO is one of my top 5 albums (the reissue with the Gram Parsons vocals restored, of course).
I recently saw the DVD "Gram Parsons: Fallen Angel", which has a promo clip of the Parsons-era (1968) Byrds lip-synching "Mr. Spaceman" -- in the Roman Colisseum!
I'm also a big fan of GP w/ The Flying Burrito Bros (which ironically had at least two future Eagles in the band) -- their version of "Wild Horses" is infinitely better than the Stones'.
