Are we sexually abusing our little girls when we dress them up to look like prostitutes?

One day, my husband and I were having dinner at a Mexican restaurant on Olive Ave in Fresno. They had Spanish TV on and we were SHOCKED beyond belief at what we saw. It was kind of like a talent show. Mexican parents entered their little girls in this contest to see which one could move and look the most sexy - they were bumping and grinding right up there like the pro's. These little girls were around 5 and 6 years old. The parents were beaming as they proudly watched their little girls act like sex-starved seducers! It was the most disgusting display I have ever seen. To this day, it makes me sick to think about it.

I think you're on point, but this is not a phenomenon restricted to the hispanic population.

We know a Mexican family (probably parents are illegal) where the daughter was pregnant at 15. I went to the little boy's first birthday party and the then 16 year old mom was going to get their pictures done beforehand and wearing an extremely revealing dress. I was really shocked at the dress and felt a little embarrassed. Well one of her younger sisters used to play with my oldest son even though she was a couple of years older. Well we hadn't seen her for awhile one time, and I couldn't believe how she had changed from a 9/10 year old little girl to a developing way too rapidly 11 year old. Now she can't do anything about her very fast developing breasts, but her parents could do something about the way she was revealing them. It was a shock. Unfortunately, I see her going the way of her sister--pregnant at 15 if not before. The oldest sister is now 17 and expecting #2.

This is actually an "equal opportunity" phenomenon. Last year I was seated outdoor at a restaurant and will never forget what looked to be a three-generation outing - grandmother, her daughter, the 8 or 9 year old grandaughter and the grandaughter's friend. All were blonde, fair-skinned. The two girls were dressed in mini skirts, mini heels, make-up and strappy tank-tops. Those two girls seemed very focused on their audience, looking around regularly to see who was looking at them. I was sad about how these young girls copied this look, very possibly from MTV.
