Seen "Auto Cool" advertised on TV? Don't buy it. A total rip-off. Zotted.

I looked it up:

"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." -- Henry Mencken

Think of it as a stupid tax.

If they let you keep your money, you might not spend it wisely...

You're right. I Googled the quote and it definitely was Menchen.

My favorite P T quote is: "Every crowd has a silver lining."

Somehow I always get a mental image of W.C. Fields speaking the line.

"Every crowd has a silver lining."

That's a new one for me. Thanks!

It's a great idea, IF it works. I'm glad I didn't do it.

I "almost" bought one of these gizmos for the Jeep (AC went out) - so I'm glad this was posted.

This thing is junk and a scam, I found a TV station that did a test. A car which previously didn't have one was 154o inside, after putting in the 'Auto Cool' it went UP to 184o

Video Link.. Auto Cool Test

Thanks for posting that- Mrs. B bought a rival product similar to this thing, and the car stays cooler if you

1)- throw away the fan

2)- place reflectors in the windshield & rear window

3)- crack both windows

It's a good idea- in theory. Down South, where heat indexes of 105-110 degrees are common toward the end of summer, it just does not draw enough air to matter.
