I am glad you mentioned that about the blacks. I read the article several times and each time was confused about the role of the blacks.

Each time I came away with the feeling that members of the black community offered av money.

PBR, I got the same impression when I read it the first time. It appears that there might have been some discussion among certain "leaders" regarding getting some money for making it go away. I'll bet the false accuser would have never seen a dime of it, if any had been exchanged.

Anyway this smacks of Shakedown Jessie and his tactics.

If there is anything at all to this rumor, then my first thought would be a Jesse Jackson connection. He's already made a public offer to pay for her education, and I never thought he was too keen to push this case anyway. Also, JJ would certainly have the means to back such an offer.

I agree with the posters who said no firm offer was actually made, but I find it plausible that such a figure was put out there and discussed. I'm not sure that Jakki just made up the entire thing out of whole-cloth.
