Sports Illustrated had an excellent article before the drug scandal broke. Cadel Evans was riding with Landis during the breakaway and said that Landis just rode away from the rest like they were tied to a post. He said he had never seen anything like it in the 10 years he has been in the Tour. It was like 3-4 mph and no one was even close to him. That's not natural.
I rooted for Landis like most Americans. But I can't abide a cheat.
