OF COURSE he as the right to his beliefs...he's not going to go to jail for it. But we also have the right to our beliefs, calling him on it and boycotting his movies. Can you say, DIXIE CHICKS.
What you are willing to accept is an article trashing Mel Gibson written by Arianna Huffington?

I agree with you. He has his as we have ours. The only laws mel broke were driving laws, surprising a Malbu cop actually enforced them and off he goes through the process.
This I believe is his 1st offence so it will cost around 10,000 and he is done. Just like any other dui.
It seems a certain group wants to punish him for something else - I can see their comments already everywhere.
The Twits spewed their hatred from a stage overseas - not in the presence of less than a handful of people. They spoke against our president on foreign soil while we were at war and they have not only not apologized for their poor judgment - they continue to defend their actions and have released a new record proclaiming they are unrepentant.
No one is perfect, and while Gibson's words were hateful, he said them while intoxicated and has apologized from them. I don't think a boycott is warranted because he admitted he was wrong and it is laughable that Hollywood would be upset over his remarks when they are mostly pro-terrorists and anti-Semites as a whole. How hypocritical.
