Well, I am a Catholic convert and if I had heard even the whiff of anti-semitism while going through RCIA, I would have noticed.

There are some Cathlics who are anti-semitic, just like there are some Southern Baptists. It has nothing to do with the faith, but rather has to do with the family in which one was brought up, and the attitudes of one's friends during one's formative years.

As a life long Roman Catholic I have never heard any official line of anti-semitism from the church in my lifetime. Are there Catholics who are? Sure... there are about 60-80 Million practicing Catholics in the US, and about another 50 Million or so who no longer actively practice....

Because the Catholic Church in America has a fairly strong history of tolerance, while the Catholic Church in Europe unfortunately has a history of intolerance which it has only begun to come to terms with during the past half century.
