The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
For instance, I'm sure that you wouldn't want me to put up a thread discussing whether you were a mean-spirited, back-stabbing gossip-mongerer. I don't know you or anything about you--I certainly have no firsthand information. [All I know is that you put up this thread.] So I shouldn't do that, right?
Condemning what Gibson did is one thing. Idly speculating about him for your personal entertainment is wrong. I don't care if he does belong to the Hollyweird crowd.

READ MY LIPS: Condemning Gibson is one thing. UNDERSTANDING why he acted is another thing entirely. You seem to think that speculating that someone is mentally ill in a mean-spirited thing. I don't think it is mean at all. I am trying to give him the BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. When my loved-one was in a manic phase he did many stupid, embarrassing things. When we found out he was suffering from bi-polar disorder it was a relief. I would rather my friends know he was ill than to think he was a self-absorbed, rude individual. GOT IT??????? I like Mel Gibson and would like to believe there is an explanation for his behavior. You think it is better to simply dismiss him as an anti-semetic drunk?
