I think this French bashing has run its course. This stuff is very serious. The Tour would have no choice but to strip Landis of the win and award it to the runner-up Peierro. That would be one of the great ironies of all since Landis allowed him to recover all of that time.

Landis evidently made a Faustian bargain and his reputation and career will never recover if the "B" test confirms the positive finding. Phonek has already said they will fire him.

The only thing that will ever fix this problem is a lifetime ban on the first offense.

Such a shame. It breaks my heart.

My guess is that alot of bikers will pass on the 2007 Tour De France...and you will see a rookie crowd of nobodies. Wouldn't even surprise if Amrstrong attempted a comeback.

I thinks I will share my bone with you!!! Being Victor Hugo Dog and working on "les miserables des chiens" I think you are correct, enough French Bashing if an American rider is guilty we have much to be ashamed of! Especially for this type of victory!!!
