Oh boy. It's too bad my husband isn't here, because he knows all to well about that. He works with one of his sister's in-laws and she is a complete FMLA abuser. She is usually out of vacation days (3 weeks worth) by either late February/early March. That's when the family doctor (also a good friend of her parents) writes her notes for "back pain", "wrist pain" or any other phantom illness causing her to take off for 4-6 weeks at a stretch.
Finally the company got fed up with it and I believe (I could be wrong) that for any sick day/time-off she needs documentation for all her mystery ailments. We are all expecting her to have a baby just for the time off.

Its almost impossible to fire someone with an FMLA. We have 6 people using theirs regularly and our dept refuses to hire extra people to cover them. So you either get mandated for OT or you do the same work load with fewer people. Its causing alot of stress,excuse me.
