in response, the KKK-cretins also used the US FLAG (and much MORE frequently than the CSA flag!) at their "rallies". does that "indelibly stain" the Stars & Stripes with "segregation"??

imVho, BOTH flags are of great enough stature to withstand the MISUSE by ALL the lunatics & HATERS, no matter what sort of idiot they may be. (nonetheless i DESPISE those who misuse EITHER flag.)

also, let me ask you the same question i asked "mike from ohio", what have YOU done to protect the FLAG(s) from the likes of the KKK-idiots & Neo-NAZI creeps?? (NOTHING/zilch/nada??? am i correct??)

No for two reasons.

The American flag is available for all Americans to use, even KKK-cretins. Their freedom of assembly is protected, as is their freedom to utter their racist message. That's America, and the Stars & Stripes is not sullied by representing those freedoms, even for avowed racists.

But the KKK-cretins are NOT elected officials, they do NOT preside over the courthouse or the statehouse, and they to NOT operate a state police force or justice department. In short, they are private citizens who are engaging in protected (albeit racist) activities.

There is a vast difference between a private group of racists and the government of a state when it comes to the use of such symbols and their INDELIBLE effect on the populace.
