LOS ANGELES - SPORTSbyBROOKS.com has learned that Prince will be the headline performer at the halftime show of Super Bowl XLI in South Florida. The game is Feb. 4 at Dolphins Stadium and will be televised by CBS.
SbB has also learned that Cirque de Soleil will be the primary pregame entertainment. An addditional musical act may soon also be added to the evening's roster.
It's the first time CBS has broadcast the NFL championship game and halftime show since since Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" at Houston's Reliant Stadium in 2004.
I think CBS is trying to keep people from changing the channel during half-time.
Best idea ever. My mom suggested that years ago too.
UW-Madison has an excellent marching band, as do many universities.
Remember those years actually looking forward to the halftime show. It's lost it's "wow" factor years ago.
Go home Prince, Twin Cities residents have suffered enough humiliation because of you.
This is interesting:

I forgot Peanuts was a SB Halftime Show.
Isn't he like 50 now?
What're they gonna do when all the acts from the 80's are in wheelchairs?
What's a dallas?????
I lost a ton of respect for Aerosmith because of this:

I cringed in horror. I could've let it slide a little if Britney could at least sing. How she made millions off her sh!tty voice is beyond me.
Exactly.
BTW, prince is 48.
Glad to see there's at least one voice of Reason.
Prince is one of those few guys who can be an artist or an entertainer. If he decides to be an entertainer for the halftime show, nobody is going to care about the 3rd Qtr of the Superbowl.
At least you know Prince won't be lip-synching! I mean, I doubt he's gonna play "Darling Nikki." He'll probably play some of his popular, more upbeat songs, maybe something new and then close with "Purple Rain."
"...What's a dallas?????..."
A Dallas is a five time super bowl winning professional football team from Texas.

She has/had one he!! of a great pr department.
You can say that again. Did you see/hear him do the solo to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" for George Harrison's RRHOF induction? Blew Clapton out of the water...
