Soccer threads are much about nothing. It's probably the only place on FR where folks go and willingly admit they are ignorant of the subject. My point was that cycling threads would probably be the same, if not for Lance Armstrong. And I could see the comments now: "cycling is gay . . . look at the shorts; cycling is socialist . . . look at the French, etc."

It would be as if I went to a NASCAR thread and started yelping, "quit trying to force your sport down my throat." Just silly.
