I never knew Lou Reed was once a member of Yes.

Did you miss the last paragraph?
Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster have been called "the Glimmer Twins of Comedy." Scharpling is a writer/producer for the television show Monk. Wurster plays drums for Superchunk and Robert Pollard. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that anything in their column ever actually happened.

Many new groups are formed from older groups. Firefall was a good example. So was the Firm. Probably the list of successful recombinations would be a mile long.

But crazier than a rattlesnake at a Thai wedding.[We dont know what this means, either.] Lazy "journalist". He could have called up Cap'n Dan, the newsman, for a translation.
I understand he's anxious for attention.

After finding out Dylan once worked with Frank Zappa, I'll believe anything! (I did post it under humor, though.)

Asia comes to mind. The English Beat migrated in to General Public and Fine Young Cannibals.

Is anything in this article true?
To: Rocko
Was it really true that before he died, Jimi Hendrix was going to join Emerson, Lake and Palmer, to form the group, HELP? I've heard this story floating around for years.

There was something just not right with that boy, said Jerry Lee Lewis of Jenkins in a late-70s interview. Talented and good lookin? Sure. But crazier than a rattlesnake at a Thai wedding. [We dont know what this means, either.] There are no rattlesnakes in Southeast Asia -- lots of other poisonous snakes, just not rattlers. It is kind of scary to me that Jerry Lee makes sense. :)

Reminds me of that SCTV sketch with (Bing) Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young performing "White Christmas."

Asia comes to mind.Asia was a pretty cool band in the mid/late-80's. Shame they only made three albums, because some of their stuff was top drawer.

I read that in Creem magazine in the early 70's not long after Jimi's death. The article stated that they jammed a couple of times and there is film of these jam sessions.

I never knew Lou Reed was once a member of Yes.I missed that too, but I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard that "The Buggles" had joined Yes! I was shocked and completely depressed... A few weeks earlier a buddy of mine whos father worked in the NY music industry told me that he had a cut off of a new Yes album that he wanted me to hear... I had no idea that they had cut an album - Well, it was a practical joke: It was a song by Starcastle.
Anyway, I remember reading the article while on the Harlem/Hudson line going to Manhatten.
Frankly, I really liked Tormato, I thought it was a good concert tour as well, but Drama was quite a change for the band. And I think that it was a good change.
But I couldn't imagine Lou Reed in Yes. I can see how it would be a disaster.

It's a shame about that Drama album because "Tempus Fugit" was a great song, but they needed Jon Anderson to sing it instead of Trevor Horn, but Squire's bass line is great.
