Last day! Floyd Landis is in the Yellow Jersey.
Wow, great pic! Dunno why, but I'll go up the Eiffel Tower again & again, and have been up the Statue of Liberty, but there's NoF'ingWay I'm crossing a ~115 yo (??) bridge like that!
I missed it. They said a drunk norwegian was in the road, what???? Hmmm. Where is eurotwit anyway?
No no, leilani - that was a Dane disuised as a Swede disguised as a Nederlander disguised as a Norwegian. Eurotwit must maintain his plausible deniabilty! ;>)
huh.
Whatever it was it wasn't me :-)
exactly.
Good morning / afternoon, Euro!! :)
Always love Eddie Izzard's line - "I'm from Europe, where the history comes from!"
Rosie Ruiz had a good time in Boston ('80?) on a move like that.
Good morning to you to!
Quiet stage so far.
Today I want to see Hushovd win!!
Come on Thor!
4:25 PM The other Americans
Our guy Jason Sumner spoke with George Hincapie, Levi Leipheimer and Christian Vande Velde today. Both Leipheimer and Vande Velde said they continue to have high hopes for their own future Tours. Hincapie, meanwhile, said he loves the Tour, but plans to discuss his future with his family, perhaps hinting that it's time for his retirement. We sure hope not. He's been a great presence in the professional peloton.
Interesting comment by Bobke, he's wondering why the Finns never seem to disguise themselves as Norwegians....
Ok. Just got back. I see we're already in the city centre now. Chou-chou still hasn't rejoined the peloton.I figure if he comes up at the L'opera station, he has a straight shot for the sprint to the Place d'Etoile. Go, baby (geez, I hope he remembered to bring enough tokens for the transfer!)
They are in Neuilly sur Seine now.
I have no idea about the Finns.
They are a mysterious folk.
Quiet, like their vodka, sits naked in their saunas whipping themselves with birch branches.
And, who is Bobke? :-)
Is Chou-Chou using the same mountian-bike carry technique that Lance did when he hopped the stream during the hayfield caper? Hope so, only way to get the bike through the turnstiles, really. He DID take a bike with him into the Metro, didn't he? Gotta have one with you at the finish, the Tour organisers are funny about stuff like that!
George has been riding a long time. I remember him beating the stuffing out of a Junior team I coached back in the mid-80's.
Don't know, but I've heard of Danes using the old fin disquise - the Little Mermaid comes to mind.
Heheheheh... yet another good one, leilani!
Bobke = Bob Roll on OLN.
